In autumn 2006, Koelnmesse will be holding its first triple event in Shanghai for the food and beverage industry. The fair will serve as a wide-ranging information and purchasing platform for manufacturers and buyers in the Chinese food industry. The food technology aspects will be addressed by International FoodTec China / Interfood 2006, which, as a spin-off event of Anuga FoodTec in Cologne, will likewise use a cross-sector approach that takes into account all the various processes. International FoodTec China will be taking place in Shanghai in conjunction with World of Food China and Sweets China, from 4th to 6th September 2006. The trio of trade fairs will cover the entire value chain, from production and processing to the ready-to-sell product.

The triple event will occupy Halls E1, E2 and E3 of the state-of-the-art Shanghai New International Exhibition Center.

Since the Chinese market was opened up, the country has become one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. Besides increasing its production volume in line with the growth in consumer demand, the Chinese food industry is also boosting exports.

In order to meet the increased demand for processed food and drinks, many Chinese companies will be investing substantially in new technologies and equipment in the coming years. As a result, more and more process-oriented applications will be used as well, because they meet the needs of today’s market.

International FoodTec China will offer a wide range of technologies and expertise to meet exactly these procurement and information needs. The offerings range from processing and packaging technologies to automation and quality management, and from environmental protection systems and biotechnology to transport and storage facilities and ingredients.

As a result, International FoodTec China will provide suppliers of food technology and machines with direct access to the Chinese market. What’s more, additional synergy effects will be generated by World of Food China and Sweets China.
